Arthur L. Flory

Arthur L. Flory

1914 - 1972

Born in Lima, Ohio, Arthur Flory became a graphic artist and illustrator of children's books. Many of his prints employ the abstract language of line, shape, and color. In Blossoms, Flory contrasts the strength of a branch with the airy delicacy of flowers. Cool blue tones and solid horizontal bands of color set a quiet mood in Winter Stream. Flory studied at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art and the National Academy of Design.
