Chantay James

Chantay James is a post graduate artist who studied Fine art at the University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield. She has experience with several different mediums ranging from painting, sculpture, performance and digital art. Ultimately leading Chantay to her award winning project 'Revelation', which uses digital art to blur the boundaries between traditional and contemporary modes of representation within western art.

The series runner up win for best solo artist at The Free range shows in London, July 2019 was the beginning of growing success and confidence for the artist. Allowing her to achieve collaborations, interviews, publishings, exhibition features and develop her interest in writing by starting important conversations which can be seen on the press page via her website.

With a strong passion for inclusivity and intersectionality. She continues to express her outlook on contemporary and western art through her work and networking. She believes working with people and using individuals as a part of her work play a big role in the development of growing as an artist and the art itself, hopefully creating an even bigger space for women like her within the scene.
