Edgar B. Smith

1911 - 1994

Edgar was born in Kansas and was one of the leading photographers in Wichita during the 1920's through the 1950's. He learned his trade in the studio of Wichita photographer Homer Harden while in high school. At the same time he was enrolled in the first flying class taught by Clyde Cessna and one of it's three graduates in 1927. He returned to Wichita after serving in WWI. He became known as The Dean of Aviation Photography. He moved to Southern California in 1956 and passed away in California in 1994.
