Frank McCoy

Frank was born in Wichita, KS. He received his BFA (1947) / MFA (1948) - University of Kansas. He also graduated from Academie Royale Des Beaux Arts, Liege, Belgium. After high school, Wichita East High, in 1943, he joined the Army. He participated in the Battle of Bulge while stationed in Europe. Taught at the Swain School of Design in New Bedford in 1954, then at Bradford Durfee College/New Bedford Institute of Technology which became SMU. He was Professor of Fine Arts at Southeastern Massachusetts University (SMU), North Dartmouth from 1958 to 1991. After retirement he mentored a group of SouthCoast MASS summer residents. He passed away in 2018 in Dartmouth, MA.
