James Pringle Cook

James P. Cook was born in Topeka, KS and received his BA in 1969 and his MA in 1970 from Emporia State University. He received his MFA in 1972 from Wichita State University. He studied under Richard Slimon at Emporia. He moved to Tucson in 1972 where he was a Professor of Art at the University of Arizona from 1972-1978. He has been a full-time artist since then. His work is in many collections including: New Mexico Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Contemporary Art, Osaka, Japan; Milwaukee Art Museum; Princeton University Collection; and the Denver Art Museum.
