Pennie Smith

Born in London, Pennie Smith studied graphics and fine art and co-produced the underground magazine Friends/Friendz between 1969 and 1972. Smith worked as staff photographer for the NME from the early 1970s to the 1980s, receiving the music magazine’s ‘Godlike Genius’ lifetime achievement award in 2002.
