Cherub Sundial

The Potters’ Arts Guild was officially established in 1904 to provide an essential source of creative and economic support for the local Compton community. Run as a guild, the workers had financial investment in the business.

Sundials were one of the earliest items made in Mary’s evening pottery classes which took place in this room. Cherubs were common in Mary’s designs for sundials, bird baths and garden figures.
