Design for a Stuart Monument

The architectural setting is similar to 1938-88-1296. The sarcophagus stands below in front of a pedestal upon which stand two women, supporting shields with their outside hands, leaning with their inside arms upon another pedestal, whose front panel is intended for the inscription. Above it sits upon a seat with lion chimearae as legs the ruler, having the mace in his left hand.
