Cadium-Vermillion Eclipse

Internationally renowned for his monumental wall-hangings, Anatsui has recently produced a new series of prints named the Eclipse Suite.

Made in close collaboration with October Gallery, London, and Factum Arte in Madrid, these large-scale prints stem from the creation of Anatsui’s metallic tapestries: the deeply marked wooden worktops on which these works are created were 3D scanned, transferred onto aluminium plates and then printed through an etching press.

Every print has a uniquely textured, reflective surface, slightly different from the others in the edition, as they are all hand-printed. This is the first time that these extraordinary new works have been shown in a public institution.
