Falling Asleep
Falling Asleep depicts a nostalgic moment when a grandmother tries to coax her granddaughter to sleep. The exposed knots and hints of mending describe the texture of the grandmother’s clothes. The shabby texture suggests a sense of age and wear. Beside it is a felted sculpture which represents the little girl - full and soft. She is held tightly in her grandmother's arms, close and dependent.
