Hand fan (52.58.2)

Brisé fan of carved sandalwood. The guards are carved and the nineteen blades are carved on both sides and pierced. The connecting ribbon is blue silk. Brass rivet with a mother of pearl washer and a metal ring.

Provenance Narrative This fan was made in China for the nineteenth century export market.
