Evening Honouring Bill Blass, Waldorf Astoria, New York, 1999,

This photograph is compositionally fascinating, utilising a Dutch tilt and a strikingly overpowering amount of black. Because of the use of flash, the solitary, pink-clawed hand that reaches into the centre of the photo almost glows. Every manicured nail glints as it reaches for the faceless woman in the foreground’s exposed neck, made all the more vulnerable by the sliver of exposed skin under the hook of her zip.
