Dead hare in brown paper

Following Miss Josling’s (his landlord) death, Kyffin moved to another address in West Hampstead. He lodged with old friends and had a small kitchen and hallway. This allowed him to paint larger canvases and the ability to stand back and view them from a reasonable distance. Nearby was a grocer’s shop where he borrowed pheasants, partridge and all manner of game which he took to his room to paint.
