Marble base, called a kilga, with a Kufic inscription: "Perfect blessings and grace and eternal glory and eternal happiness and eternal good luck." Kilga bases supported large porous ceramic jars that ended in a point, from which water would drip and collect in the basin. Egypt, 12th c.
