Monads Of The Urban Sea

This is the second work in a series of sculptures made just prior to lockdown this year. The title comes from a line by economic geographer David Harvey in his essay ‘Right to the City’. When talking about the rapid pace and scale of urbanisation over the last century he asks “Have we become mere monads tossed around in an urban sea?”
