The Duluth Art Institute and the University of Minnesota - Duluth collab on the 2022 Emerging Photographers exhibition. This year 10 photographers present a diverse body of work, from product placement to nature photography to social commentary. Whether disrupting social norms, bearing witness to social justice, investigating nature or building their own environments the 2022 Emerging Photographers explore their circumstances and deliver their perspectives. Some embrace spontaneity, experimenting with the serendipity of film, others execute prepared photoshoots with controlled lighting and framing, some oscillate between the two. Overall, passion, enthusiasm, and self-discovery emerge.
