These tureens belonged to a service that appears to have consisted solely of tureens of three different models. While clearly not a service in the conventional sense, this group of tureens is one of the earliest assemblages of porcelains with matching decoration intended to be used together. The tureens are traditionally believed to have been made for one of the princes of Rohan.
