Acid Rain 1

These Acid Rain and Flower paintings depart from ideas of beauty and the view that the natural and non-human world is one of vulnerability and impermanence. Rather, they explore the tensions between what is real and what’s fake and how our experience of nature parallels our experience as a viewer of these paintings.

The Acid Rain paintings are both printed and painted, in bright, technicolour, they can be seen as dramatically fake. Whilst conveying the psychedelic there also comes a sense of foreboding, calling into question how we truly see the planet and ultimately, what will the impact of our hedonistic approach to the environment be?...
