Panefer
Unknown Maker
A carved stone Syenite statuette of 'Panefer' who lived in the reign of Rameses II. Believed to be a grave marker. Egyptian in style, the man is seated and appears to be holding a Sphinx, although there is a large amount of surface damage rendering the detail unclear. Syenite is a form of granite, much used by the Egyptians for their monuments.
