Quarter of a Ceiling, Livre de Plafonds (Book of Ceilings)

Folio 10, plate 2 of series 7. Design for ceiling with trophy motif. Upper left (presumed central ceiling motif) a cartouche with trophy motifs- horn, banner and garland. Below, at right angle, an asymmetric design of putti riding dolphins (at left hoding a paddle, at right holding a triton), a pine tree in center. A goddess holding a banner (center), a goddess with plumage and two horns, the House of Wittelsbach banner and mask below. A rustic god, a putti riding a dolphin, water plants at right. Sections are connected with dotted lines, presumably as a guide to the stucco decor.
