La liste ou Grand diptyque aux Oiseaux

"Birds are disappearing from the French countryside at a vertiginous speed." This sad news comes from the latest study of the CNRS and the Museum of Natural History, this latest institution having precisely drawn up a red list of 135 species of breeding birds in France, endangered or vulnerable in 2016.

Sandrine Rondard reacted to this sad inventory by making a large diptych bringing together these endangered species hoping that it does not join, one day, like a diorama, the floor of the disappeared animals of the gallery of Evolution.

A painting to "amaze" thanks to the beauty of these 135 species, but also a painting to "impress" when in front of the number of birds represented. Like always in her work ambivalence reigns, the beautiful and the disquieting coexist.
