Silk Caftan With Gilt Metal Threads
Silk caftan with gilt metal threads, embellished with vegetal decoration. The material has been dated to circa mid-16th century, based on a comparison with Iznik pottery dishes, which have a similar decoration of pomegranates. Turkey, circa 1550.
