Silk Funeral Banner from the funeral of Oliver Cromwell, 1658

A painted silk banner or escutcheon showing a variation of Oliver Cromwell's coat of arms. This was one of 2006 such banners that was flown at Cromwell's stats funeral on 23 November 1658. Only four have survived today, which are owned by Westminster School, the Natonal Army Museum, the Museum of London and this one in the Cromwell Museum's collections.
