Sofa (3793)

Rococo mahogany sofa with eight legs and serpentine crest rail, upholstered in pink and blue striped silk with brass nail trim. Made in England.

Crest rail is curved with slightly pitched rolled arms. The C-shaped front faces of the arms curve to meet the tops of the front legs. The four front legs and four back legs are slightly tapered suggesting a date at the beginning of the neoclassical period.
