The British Coat of Arms Executed in Fine Ayrshire White Work Embroidery

The armorial panel was created by Lady Evelyn Murray and is considered to be one of the finest examples of 20th-century British embroidery. The piece is worked with a border of roses, thistles and scrollwork - with Prince of Wales feather and motto below the crest - all elaborately filled with needlework patterns.

Lady Evelyn moved to Switzerland and then Belgium, where she studied embroidery. She returned to Scotland in 1936 after dispatching her collection of embroidery for display in the castle....
