Terracotta jug with griffin protome handle
From the end of the seventh century to well into the sixth century B.C., in Etruria "cilindretto" ornament much like the band of impressed decoration on the body of this vase was very common. The patterns were often animal and plant motifs, human heads, and narrative scenes.
