As the May 21 fight against Henry Cooper drew near, Ali and his entourage travelled to London. Removed from the political turmoil and the controversies that plagued Ali in the United States, overseas fans celebrated his arrival. Ali reveled in the attention, greeting onlookers with characteristic warmth, charisma, and humor.
