Violet Lindsay

Available for adoption

Watts painted this famous artist and socialite on several occasions. A supporter of theatre and the arts, Lindsay was an original member of the artistic and social group called ‘The Souls’.

This portrait of the artist’s Symbolist muse was widely exhibited during his lifetime, both in Britain, Europe and the United States. Described as ‘a superb jewel’ exuding ‘a richness without parallel’, the striking painting made a significant impact on the European avant-garde in the 1890s.
