Government Art Collection curated by Carriers of Hope

On this tour, you will view a series of artworks from the Government Art Collection that are being displayed across Coventry’s City Arcade shop windows through The Show Windows: Reflections project. Curated by local charity, Carriers of Hope, this exhibition brings contemporary artworks into this post-war shopping arcade, asking visitors to stop and reflect on Coventry today. It is an exhibition of artworks that was created by and for the people of City Arcade.

At each tour stop, you will be able to read interpretations of the artwork from the curators of this public exhibition, the women from Carriers of Hope, and Government Art Collection. You can also listen to an interpretation from Historic England. These will all give insight into the artwork, the reason it was selected and how it relates to post-war Coventry and themes of hope, reconciliation and reinvention.
