Introduction to The Show Windows

Perhaps as you read this you’re standing in front of a shop window in Coventry. Perhaps you’ve just opened a new window on your computer somewhere else in the world. Wherever you are, on the other side of the pane of glass – or the screen of your device – is an artwork that will lead you to another place, or another time, beyond the frame.

Every month over the next year, as part of City of Culture 2021, local and international artists, designers, architects and makers are transforming Coventry city centre by turning shop windows into portals to fantasy worlds and mindscapes.
