Daniel was born in Oklahoma City, OK. He received his BA from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ and his MA from the University of Chicago. He received his MFA in 1982 in Painting from the University of Kansas. While at KU, he studied under Roger Shimomura and worked part-time at the Spencer Museum of Art. He moved to Pennsylvania in 1983 as a full-time artist and occasionally teaches at Lebanon Valley College, Annville, PA. He primarily works in pastels. His work are part of the collections of: Art Institute of Chicago, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, National Gallery of Art, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
