Robert Blunk was born in Salyards, KS. He received his BFA in 1950 from the Kansas City Art Institute and his MFA in 1962 from Pittsburg State University. He was a Professor of Art at Pittsburg from 1962 - 1988. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII. He was also an art teacher at Chanute Community College 1950-1962. He designed the Safari Museum in Chanute, KS. He continues to make art in his studio in Denver, CO.
