Russell Aikins was an American photographer born in Philadelphia, PA. He began his photographic career at the Philadelphia Inquirer, and later ran the New York Times Washington picture bureau. He combined art-school training and a background in news photography to create a hybrid style he called "camera reporting". Best known for his pictures of industry and his images were to promote companies and give the public greater confidence of their ability to build quality products. There is no records of any activity of Russell after 1948 and his date of death is unknown.
