A Delft Vase with Flowers

As noted by F. Meijer, DPG42 and DPG61 are versions of a pair in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, signed by Michiel van Huysum, one of which bears the date 1729. The authorship of the Dulwich works has been recently reattributed to Michiel van Huysum or Francina Margaretha van Huysum (Amsterdam, 1707–1789), sister of Michiel van Huysum. The signatures on the Dulwich paintings have both been converted at some time to read 'Jan van Huysum' and in each case the 'M' is now defaced.
