Un des quatre duels d'animaux qui ornaient les angles des piédestaux du socle en forme d'arc de triomphe soutenant la pièce centrale du surtout de table (Quatre indiens montés sur un éléphant richement carapaçonné donnant la chasse à deux tigres, dit Chasse au tigre, Baltimore, Walters Art Museum) commandé par le duc Ferdinand Philippe d'Orléans à Claude Aimé Chenavard (1798-1838) et à Antoine-Louis Barye (1795-1875).
