Band

Unknown Maker

Wide band of bobbin lace with a symmetrical design of foliage, flowers, birds and animals. The repeating design alternates between a flowering plant and a crowned siren with a tail in each hand, each framed by curving foliage and pairs of peacocks, cocks, doves, lambs, geese, dogs, and horses. The solid areas have much interior decoration and are connected by brides.
