Chinese Wood Carving

One of a pair of relief and pierced carvings.
Outer perimeter of each is pierced and carved with leaves and flowers. An inner oval is inlaid with ivory and frames a picture, of figures threshed corn being poured into a cask.
Purchased by John and Josephine Bowes at Paris International Exhibition 1867.
