Demotic papyrus containing a contract between some priests of the gods Amun, Hathor and Min-Hapy for the granting of religious services
A group of 53 papyrus scrolls in demotic and Greek found at Deir el-Medina belonged to the archive of a family of priests. These papyri carry exact dates ranging between 188 and 10 BC. They were contained in two large jars found still sealed. The scrolls were rolled up and wrapped in cloth.
The texts include administrative and notarial documents, and accounts. The recurring of the same names allows us to establish connections with other documents found in the Theban area and reconstruct the lives of some local families of the period.
