Design for Clock

Tournai Lefebvre Manufactory

Design for an elaborate clock. Intended to be executed in green and gilded bronze. The dial is framed by an oblong, with thunderbolts above and below. It is inserted in a rock, upon which a female figure (Minerva) leans, at right, and a spear and other military paraphernalia, at left. Faces and a wreath are placed on the spear. The base is octagonal in shape. At the front is a scene in relief (sacrifice to Minerva). Represented at the oblique sides are trophies. Below are knobs. Inscriptions and markings at the lower center.
