Krogh was commander-in-chief at the Battle of Isted on 25 July 1850. In the background are Chief of Staff, later Major General and Minister of War Karl Julius Flensborg, 1804-1852, and Deputy Chief, later Lieutenant General Heinrich August Theodor Kauffmann, 1819-1905, both on horseback.
