Glacier

In a recent trip to Iceland with my son we visited the Vatnajokull national park which is the largest ice cap in Europe.

Watching the Glacier melting and hear icebergs breaking off into the sea was incredibly moving.

But Global warming is not the only factor in Icelandic glaciers melting.

Volcanoes continue to erupt beneath the glaciers and lead to the development of large pockets of water beneath the ice, which may burst the weakened ice and cause floods.
