Gold roundel with stamped designs

Unknown Artist

Made of hammered sheet metal, these gold roundels would have adorned a cloth or garment, probably a funerary shroud. Similar examples have been found in the Royal Shaft Graves at Mycenae and in Mycenaean tombs on the island of Rhodes.
