Gold-thread woven silk with oval sections and medallions decorated with stylised clouds and flowers. The court workshops, which produced exclusively silk with metallic thread, were reorganised during the 1540s in order to satisfy court demand and put an end to Italian silk imports. Istanbul, 16th c.
