
Horizontal Panel with Three Birds, from Varii Generis Opera Aurifabris Necessaria
Ornamental frieze with three birds (at upper right, bottom center, and middle right) perched on foliate scrolls. The large bird at center faces right and holds the end of a tendril in its long beak. From a series of six plates with horizontally hatched backgrounds. According to Berliner, the backgrounds of the plates in this series were further darkened at a later date.
