The Clash: London Calling - Joe Strummer's typewriter

Joe had quite a few typewriters. This model was made by the Wanderer-Werke in East Germany but for the British market – it has an English keyboard including a pound sign. Wanderer-Werke manufactured bicycles, motorbikes and cars but also office equipment. In the late 1920s the company developed a number of portable typewriters targeted at roving journalists called ‘Continental’. This particular model is from the 1930s.
