Kristiane Konstantin Hansen, 1848-1925, tapestry weaver and Marie Magdalene Købke, 1832-1916

Kristiane Konstantin Hansen (left) ran an embroidery company in Copenhagen with Johanne Bindesbøll when, in 1897, they received the great task of making tapestries for the Great Hall at Frederiksborg. After three years of preparation and study trips to learn tapestry weaving, in 1900 they began the extensive work that went on until 1928. Marie Magdalene Købke was married to the pioneer in the cultivation of the Jutland heath, Enrico Dalgas.
