His research at the beginning is characterized by intense metropolitan accents, by chipped lines crossed by a rhythmic and two-dimensional representation, gradually replaced by an abstraction with minimal traits sometimes vaguely dreamlike, evident also in the site specific work for the Mother, a tent- curtain at the entrance of the great hall-stage on the ground floor, renamed Re_Pubblica Madre. This is the first curtain commissioned by the museum, in which two large white circular elements stand out against a background of black velvet to evoke two beams of light that illuminate two hypothetical actors, suggesting a process of identification with the visitors themselves in the presence of the work . What is constant in Fiorito's research, even in the substantial diversity of stylistic choices, is an extremely effective compositional precision that gives the image a lively expressive power and a very sensitive sense of color achieved in the restless play of the sign and the vibrant contrasts. chromatic and chiaroscuro. His is a search suspended between chaos and rigor, stasis and movement, concrete and visionary elements that touch and converge in an inexact geometry, in unexpected encounters. Suspended between surreal and real, Fiorito deploys almost a geometric-oneiric scanning operation, aimed at detecting the exceptional in the banal, the fantastic in everyday life, a mental journey aimed at indicating possible iconic paths that go beyond the thresholds of representation.
