Mosaic Doll Quilt (54.171)

Unknown Artist

A small pieced doll quilt of seventy-two 1" squares made of tan gingham and roller- and block-printed floral and geometric printed cottons in shades of tan, brown, orange, and white. Backed in one piece of off-white cotton; thin loft cotton filling and quilted at 8 stitches per inch in white thread in a chevron pattern. The quilt is intended for the top of the bed; it has a blue binding under which is a 3.5 inch ruffle in a yellow, green, brown, and white block print on the sides and foot of the bed, in three pieces so that it will fall conveniently around the posts of a four-poster doll bed.
