Louis Comfort Tiffany's patented "Favrile" glass, produced at the Tiffany Furnaces in New York, featured shimmering surfaces of iridescence, reminiscent of ancient glass treasures. The "Peacock" vases reflect Tiffany's interest in the long, sinous lines of the Art Nouveau style and his fascination with highly organic forms.
