Pearlware plate from Leeds, England, decorated with a transfer print of the "willow" pattern. The rim is a raised basket work design, with the edges in a looped configuration. The looped edges are blue with spears at the ends, while the rest of the rim is bluish white. The edge of the cavetto consists of a blue transfer print border with trellis motifs filled with partridge eyes alternating with a fish scale background with a section of partridge eyes superimposed. The cavetto of the plate has the traditional chinoiserie Willow Pattern with such elements as the willow tree, a pagoda, three men on a bridge and two birds in the sky. The plate has a somewhat raised bowl, but is still not a soup plate or small bowl.
